There is a cool new style that would be cool for this board called

"Whatisreal"

looks ok if a bit bright for my eyes (possibly change the blue for an alternate colour?) :o and the content of the threads needs centering as it is showing to be aligned on the left of the screen atm :)

I have to say its rather annoying, it looks hi-tech and all but the graphics are intrusive, the text is unreadable, and its just not very practical.

A "wide" design theme would be great, the two none-standard themes are rather cramped and centred.

I'm using galaxian, i know some people are using solaris and some subsilver. I wish i had the time to design one, but unfortunately right now despite appearances i'm completely swamped... i haven't even had chance to touch the frontpage php beyond tweaks... same goes for the forums, and what with uni starting back up and my final year project... argghh!

Never have time to do anything i want to do :(

errr. anyway, yeah, i think although its a nice technical demo of html skills, i think its rather intrusive, inpractical and very hard to navigate. Just call me Luke BuzzKiller :)

lol. Yea, with a colour change mabey it would be all right.. I do like the "sticky" background image with the "overlay" look though. I'm using Solaris.. I really like the colours, but yea it is a bit cramped.

keep a scout out though, i'm not happy with any of scifi's threads to be honest. They all have their flaws :(

I think "whatisreal" looks better than solaris, which is far more "sci-fi" than anything else on here (imo). would be a lot easier to read if the tables were centered instead of left align. but that can't be difficult to make so can it?

nope not hard at all to center, i just can't read the text since its transparent

There'll be a tag div align="left" (or similar) and you just change it to center.

scrolling through it, the only problem I found with the transparency was the earth on the left corner. center should eliminate that.

whatisreal looks great. but I'm having second thoughts about the layering. I've gotten used to the tables stuck on the background. looks cool though.

y'all need to update to gif avs with transparant backgrounds. :P

i set it back to solaris, since i am used to the collors, fonts etc.... if you spud could fix the logo up there to be more sci-fi oriented than horror and the news showing new sci-fi posts instead of the horror posts this would be good...

gone all weird now?

:o
Anymore specific.... weird how? theme? when? which? whom?

looks exactly as it did yesterday, in all the themes so your going to have to tell me.

Perhaps your using a lousy browser and need to clear cache or something. Looks the same here as yesterday.

Yup, that's a client side thing. hit refresh, your css file needs refreshing... you've got one cached and your not using the latest one.

It actually looks like this:

If refreshing doesn't work, you need to delete your browsers cache.

If that doesn't work, go here:
templates/Solaris/Solaris.css

and hit refresh to force it to update

Its nothing serverside that can be done, its your browsers fault. Normally ie is to blame when this happens, very suprised firefox is doing it.
