Trying to Contribute, Not Sure How.

Postby EddoftheDead on Wed Mar 18, 2009 4:31 pm

Hey I am trying to upload some stuff and I can't find the dead-donkey servers anywhere I have many other e-mule servers popping up but not scifi.dead-donkey or the Horror one. I am using aMule and am slightly new to this and I went over the FAQ step by step and it still isn't working. aMule is slightly different from eMule as a program but I'm not sure what to do? Is there any particular ed2k address I should go to?

what goes in these?

Sorry to bother you just trying to figure this out

Not sure what I should do but I do want to contribute and I'm not sure how to make it work.

There is no scifi.dead-donkey ed2k server. It doesn´t matter, which server you use. Every server connects you with the entire ed2k network.

Beware so-called "fake" servers though: ed2k servers, that are run by anti-piracy groups to log IPs of users. Make sure to use a clean server list, for example from http://www.gruk.org/list.php or http://edk.peerates.net/servers.php

Or use KAD only. You don´t actually need any server to connect to the network.

According to your screenshot, you have a Low ID by the way. Most likely your software firewall is not allowing aMule free access, or you have not forwarded the aMule ports in your router.

Maybe you can find a guide for your router model here: http://www.portforward.com/

Otherwise you can also just ask your ISP.
