Fathom (2005)
aka Surface

Image

Surface is an action-adventure drama project from writers-directors Josh and Jonas Pate. The network has greenlighted a pilot from the NBC Universal Television show, which is described to be in the vein of James Cameron's "The Abyss" and revolves around mysterious creatures deep in the ocean. The twin brothers penned the pilot script and are set to direct and executive produce the pilot.

The brothers, who started off in features with "The Grave" and "Deceiver," most recently served as co-executive producers of Dick Wolf's short-lived series for ABC, "L.A. Dragnet."

NOTE: The original title of the series was Fathom but was changed after it came to light that the rights to the name were owned by another company.

I think it airs on ABC or CBS, which to me means it will be hoplessly watered-down. (hmm...a pun!) Definitely intriguing. kinda reminds me of Prey</i> though (debra messing before will and grace</i>). ABC killed that quick fast and in a hurry.

anyway, it's pretty heavily advertised as surface</i> over here, so when I clicked, I thought I was clicking on a new movie version of the Top Cow comic (Fathom</i>) by the guy who created Witchblade</i>.

Just finished reading a book my bro lent me after I showed him Fathom....

Image
The Krakan Wakes by John Wyndham he also wrote Day of the triffords.

It is a story about an alien invasion of earth. The thing is because of the conditions on their home planet they have to set up their bases at the bottom of the sea floor... as they need the hardcore pressure that is down there to survive... They are big massive sea monsters that slowly try to take over the earth... using mankind own weapons against them.... The scientists and the US military fight back... .. ..

Sound similar?

This show is getting better, you still have no clue what is going on, which is good :D

Jynks is right in one aspect, it does have that Ewok thing going on, its got the little cutesy story line going on, it needs to hurry up and eat the kid or something.

One scene you see something eating a boat, and the next something purring and being pet.... :spank:
