I hear there is plans for 2 films for SG1 and a tentative talks of a third series to strt after the films, if they are successful.

Oh! Sorry, guess I was wrong. I'm sure your information is correct and... In fact, I'm usually quite wrong, quite unreliable actually. To be honest with you, I'm insane. - Daniel Jackson

 That's one Klingon ass I see there. And one Klingon ass doesn't make spring  (You see, Jynks wrote that back in spring when that was quite valid info at the time. In the mean time, producers changed that status from whatever it was in to whatever it's now... so keep your panties on :P )

...though being without sound effects and music might make it better. At least there won't be any explosions heard in outer space and all that "I skipped physics classes a lot" crap

Yeah, yeah, audible explosions in space = crap. However, silent explosions in space are simply no fun. This is one of the few things where I gladly ignore physics. :)

Actually I remember Babylon 5 explained the explosions in space in the making ofs; a few nasa people came in to explain how everything inside the area of newly exposed atmosphere from an exploding space craft, including the pilot inside would be able to hear the explosion. So when you hear sound in space, the boom mic is situated within the expanding area of atmosphere expelled from the exploding objects.

To prove this theory, I suggest sending wargand up into space in a small rocket with no windows/external viewers with a million and one extremely shitty movies (max might be able to help here with his personal collection), all of which he has to review without using the word "deleted" in his summary. Then we can wait for him to explode when his brain shuts down after 1 review without using the word (or someone shooting him down, which ever comes first ).

We just need to make sure the last thing he transmits is whether he can hear himself exploding or not. :outsider:

btw crap series -> deleted :googley:

 Poor mic  Basically, if you understand physics to at least some extent, where the explosion could be heard in mostly vacuum (some atoms here and there don't count) would be the last place you wanna be. You can "hear" only what propagates as (a shock-wave) vibrations of matter... in this case, the only matter carrying that "info" would be the same that just exploded... so, you'll need to be within the blast area to hear an explosion in space. That's something I'd try to avoid if possible ;) Don't forget there's absolutely nothing decelerating this exploding matter in vacuum so anything hitting you that would in turn produce "sound" it'd have way too much power for comfort (whatever its mass) Also, the way mics work, they wouldn't record that "nice" cabooooom... more likely a short squeak of its membrane tearing apart.

EDIT: Just remembered... there's also no sound barrier in vacuum (less the one that's within the matter exploding), so if we were able to record the sound of an explosion in it, it'd prolly produce high pitched "Geiger counter" like sound... prolly similar to what you hear if you "tune in" to Jupiter with your FM receiver. Also, you wouldn't hear a thing until that blast reaches you. I'd most definitely smell my own soiled panties first
