'FARSCAPE' DECLARES 'WAR' ON THE COMPETITION

SCI FI Miniseries Premieres #1
Among P18-49 and P25-54

New York, NY (October 19, 2004) -- The fans have spoken. They frelling love their Farscape. The two-night, four-hour Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars (Oct. 17-18 @ 9-11pm ET/PT) premiere averaged a 1.7 HH rating/1,916,000 P2+, making SCI FI the #1 non-sports cable network for P25-54 and P18-49 for the time period over the two nights.

SCI FI trounced its competition among P25-54, outdelivering TNT (24%), TBS (45%) and Spike TV (42%). They fared no better among P18-49, with SCI FI outperforming TNT (32%), TBS (27%) and Spike TV (35%).

Peacekeeper Wars delivered an aggregate audience of 6,883,000 viewers over the two nights (4 telecasts of Night One, 3 telecasts of Night Two).

With a 1.5 HH rating/1,735,000 P2+, Night One of Peacekeeper Wars was up 81% in HH ratings and scored triple digit increases in key demos versus the time period average for October 2003:
• +163% in P25-54
• + 202% in P18-49

Night Two of the mini soared even higher, delivering a 1.9 HH rating/2,097,000 P2+ (Oct. 18 @9-11pm ET/PT). It improved upon the previous night's premiere by:
• +30% in HH rating
• +25% in P18-49
• +20% in P25-54

The producers have previously stated that another mini-series, a feature film, or a spin-off television show are all possibilities, depending on how well The Peacekeeper Wars performed. Fans can frelling hope!

impressed by how much effort they put in for a 2 parter. can't see it ever coming back though. the series ended with an opening perfect for a follow up, but this seemed too tidy at the end. probably a tough choice, finish nicely or leave it hanging again. spin-offs?

so cool, I'll use my favorite smiley

The BBC has decided not to buy the Farscape miniseries.

We're sad to announce that the BBC will not be showing Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars.

Instead, the four hour miniseries has been bought in a joint bid from Sky and a terrestrial broadcaster. With this bid on the table, BBC Two schedulers felt the miniseries would be too expensive to acquire. Right now, there are no plans for repeat runs of the first four seasons, but the series is still under licence to the BBC and this could change in the future.

Peacekeeper Wars will now be shown on Sky One on January 16 and 23 next year. This means that it will not be shown on the Sci Fi Channel in the UK as well. Terrestrial-only viewers need not worry, as a terrestrial broadcaster has picked up the rights - we'll report further on this when we can.

A DVD release of the miniseries is also planned for early next year.

We'd like to take this opportunity to say sorry to UK Farscape fans, and reassure you that the Cult site will continue to cover the show.

Not verified. No group specified.

It reads like this:

This is a DVD Shrink ISO of The PeaceKeeper Wars DVD. This has all the menus still intact and is great quality dvd image. This torrent is meant as a backup for anyone who may have scratched/lost their dvd. Just mount with daemon tools and burn or use a direct iso burning.

For those with enough disk space (I'm giving it a try):

if they are on the torrent of the DVDr, yes. He used shrink though, so I don't know what was dumped and unfortunately I think he used its very poor transcoder on the video (DVDrebuilder people!)
