Tomorrow Calling (1993) (TV)

Based on the short story "The Gernsback Continuum" by William Gibson.

Picture: Cover of "Burning Chrome" - the book.
Collection of Gibson short stories, incl. "The Gernsback Continuum".

Plot

Bill (Salmon) is shooting architectural photographs of "futuristic" buildings of the 30's for a coffee table book commissioned by Dialta (Wilcox). But as he frames up a deco bingo hall, a vast airship looms over him. Is it a dream? His friend Mervyn tells him it is a manifestation of the mass unconscious, a "semiotic ghost". Bill next sees people dressed like extras from "Things to Come", the futuristic fantasy. Mervyn advises Bill that there is no future, only a futuristic dream invented in the present, and that the cure is a large dose of pornography. Bill goes straight to the video shop and its top shelf.

Would love to see that. But as far as I can see, it has never been released on DVD ...

However. Whilst searching on IMDB, I came across two X-Files-episodes, for which Gibson was writing the scripts. And even I am not really a fan of "X-Files", I will check these ones out ...
X-Files Episode 5.11 "Kill Switch"
X-Files Episode 7.13 "First Person Shooter"
