Hi Malignus, I have another film suggestion for your collection.

No Blade of Grass, it's pretty old but maybe worth considering.

"When the Wind Blows" is really unique, fully animated, and with a David Bowie soundtrack.

Hello, everyone.
I've neglected the collection a bit, but now I'm back. I've fixed some missing pictures and corrected the code. I didn't add any movies yet. I'll do it after my examination session (In a week and a half, I think). Stay tuned.
I've found a new rip of "Steel Dawn". I'm not sure if it's in English though. If you can verify it, leave me a note.

@Lucf: From what I read, "Na srebrnym globie" is not a post-apocalyptic movie. The action takes place on another planet. I didn't watch the movie though, so I might be wrong. :?
@Wogg: I'm not sure if "When the Wind Blows" isn't more apocalyptic than post-apocalyptic, but I didn't watch the movie, so... :?
@Black: Same as above. :?

Thanks, e#man. The movie is not exactly post-apocalyptic, but after reconsideration I think it's close enough to the theme, and it can be included here. I'll add it later.
Just one thing, do you have the English subtitles for the rip? Are there any?

Great list very well done! I accidentally came across it (and this site) trying to put together my own PA list. I like the way you focus on the wasteland movies! My own list is for my site www.post-apocalypse.co.uk where I am trying to detail all of these Mad Max II rip-offs. If anybody's interested please go and have a look. This is probably the first advert so you may be the first true PA fans to see.

I need to go through your list again, but one little point, Empire of Ash is the same film as Empire of ash II. They re-released it with the 2 a year later, although I have no idea why. Technically there is no empire of ash 1 (although there is a 3 that you have listed under its alternative title). Mental. I should have a big review of the movie up in a few days.

Hey, Michael!

Thanks for your words. I also like your site. Thanks for the link. I've added it to my favourites and I'll visit your site from time to time. Good work!

I don't understand the fuss with "Empire of Ash". I've checked the cast & crew for both parts and they appear to be the same (at least when it comes to major characters - I don't have a full cast for part I). So you might be right. But wasn't it first released as "Empire of Ash" and later rereleased as "Empire of Ash II"? (In this case technically there's no second part.) Do you happen to have the 23rd Century DVD? What's the screen title there?
But why are both parts available on DVD in Hong Kong then? See here: "Empire of Ash" & "Empire of Ash II".

My copy is a big box UK rental version. The box and the opening titles say Empire of ash, but at the very end, after the credits, an additional title comes up crediting one of the music tracks (although the Steppenwolf track is never credited) and at the bottom it says empire of ash II. The Japanese box cover for Ash II features all the same characters, costumes and truck as ash 1. So i think technically, all the copies avaliable under the guise of ash 1 and 2 are the same. I could still be wrong though...

thanks for the comments on the site. There should be a new review every week or two.

A couple more possibilities for the list:

Karate Cop (sequel to Omega Cop). Haven't seen this one yet: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102187/

Fire Fight. I only know about this one from finding the VHS at a boot sale. Really poor production values. Like Empire of Ash but with less cash.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0122064/

Nemesis 2 : Nebula. Not had time to watch this yet but seems to have lots of PA elements. Maybe the other nemesis movies too.

Same characters, costumes and truck are pobably in part III as well. When I'll have some more money, I'll try to get those two HK DVDs and check it myself. I don't believe they would sell the same movie under titles saying that one's part I and the second one's part II.

Thanks for the links. I'll add the first two you mentioned later. About the "Nemesis" series... I'm still not sure whether to add them or not. I've only watched the first part up till now. I'll think about it after I watch the second part.

Then there's also a Hallmark remake of the "On The Beach": viewtopic.php?t=2874

Links are verified and seeded ATM ;)

EDIT:

Say, would "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers" fall into this category? I mean if all the worlds population is replaced by an alien species and you're the only one left (human), that sounds pretty post-apocalyptic to me :?

Digitalgodd, thanks for the links! Unfortunately most of them are dead, so they are of no use to me. :( The "Nemesis 2" rip is in German. :( But thanks for the movies I haven't included in the collection yet. I'll add them later.

Hey, you're the full source for "Warrior of the Lost World"! Great! Make a proper release thread to help the file spread! And put the file on release.

I've only watched the 70's version, so I'll refer to it. I can't be included, just as "Dawn of the Dead" - because they are apocalyptic, not post-apocalyptic. The invasion has just started. If the movie's action was a few years after, then I'd welcome it here with open hands (just like I did in the case of "Day of the Dead" and "Land of the Dead").

Glad to see you're following that "post-apocalyptic" rule to the letter anyway, otherwise I'd have to suggest such shite as "The Day After Tomorrow" as well  Some other suggestions:

Café Flesh (1982) *Adult / Sci-Fi*

Lori, a female body guard steals a case of such chips and flees underground Los Angeles with Danner, a pleasure android so that they can smuggle the chips to New York. In pursuit is Plughead, a dangerous criminal so named because of the many sockets and ports which decorate his scalp so that he can test and use the chips that he is after.

Not to the letter. I also include some sci-fi action movies with a similar feeling (e.g. "Escape from New York"). ;) But it's I who decides whether to bend the rules or not.
