Narration: Dr. Jean Houston.

A contemporary reading of Huxley's oeuvre, a rendition and interpretation, inspired by an immersion into his life and thought. Complex, iconoclastic, psychedelic, and historical.

The Gravity Of Light incorporates rare archival footage, computer rendered 3D animation, speculative fictions, and selections from his essays.

This documentary offers a rather free-form look at the life, works, ideas and opinions of influential British author Aldous Huxley. Its thesis is that much of what Huxley said, did and wrote about decades ago is still relevant in contemporary times. Much of the film is comprised of a 1957 interview televised by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and excerpts from a speech given by U.N. adviser Dr. Jean Houston at a symposium on the great writer. Interspersed between segments of these items are a variety of creative devices ranging from 3-D animations, dramatic reenactments, intellectual conversations and even humorous scenes. Originally produced in 1997 this work is a re-edited/revised edition for DVD by the director.
