Postby fileslasher on Fri Apr 08, 2005 1:04 am

Hey all. I'm havin a lil trouble with watching avi's ,mpegs, dvdr's ect. with my tv-out card. I have everything set up properly - Desktop is on the tv screen , i can search the net , play games and whatever else. But with video files and dvd disks all I get is a black screen in the media player on the tv but of course plays fine on the moniter. Im usin wma and vlc media players.
My card is PowerColor ati radeon 9550 se.

Any1 have any suggestions??????

If you're running two displays at once, the video will only show on the Primary display. So you've got 3 ways to fix it:

1. Disable the monitor, and only use the TV when you're watching films.

2. Set the TV to Primary when you're watching films.

3. Set them to clone mode instead.
Ahh.. no offence, but you are a robot, aren't you?

with mine i can actually use both at once, but yes, its to do with overly settings, you can only have one or the other on most cards.

Windows media Player:
Set TV as secondary (no clone)
Open Windows Media Player
Minimize it
right click on windows media player (on bar) and choose "restore on monitor 2"
Bsplayer
Set TV as secondary (no clone)
open bsplayer
drag film windows to the right until you can see it at secondary (the tv)
choose "remember position" on preferences
voilá!

I've got ATI Radeon 9200, and have TV set up as clone, with 'Theater Mode' selected in Overlay tab. Automatically runs movies as full screen on TV but PC monitor remains the same. Works for WMP10, VLC, WinAmp
