they only brush lightly on smallville Gem, i guess that's because it's newer so more people are likely to know about it? don't get me wrong it does get mentioned, just not mucheven the 1980s Superboy series gets a mention (it's out on dvd now btw)

It was a nice documentary.

I got laid too

Took my 5 yr old son to see the new superman yesterday. OVerall the film was ok, and that has nothing to do with it not being reeve etc.

The film was just too long, a typical hollywood problem nowadays with remade or remimagined films is that they spend half the film, re introducing the characters etc and then eventually give you a film.

The set pieces and effects were great, the plane rescue was eye watering.

But the film could have done with 40 minutes cut from it to speed it up and it would have been a lot better

I was surprised to look up and see how LONG the movie was too. but tbh, that's a compliment (I take it you were saying the opposite). but you did make me think of PotC2. that movie was long and action packed and I really felt like it was dragging on and going nowhere in particular.

indeed. it feels like one fairly long movie (e.g., kill bill) that was bloated into 2 movies. but you can say the same about any superhero franchise. especially a reboot of the franchise.

I saw the new film the other day with my little brother and I was very pleasantly surprised. I watched Superman 1 and 2 last week.

I was even happy with the length, cause that meant I got to watch more of a film that I was enjoying.

I even thought the new guy did a good 'reeve'

true, for being a new guy he didn't do bad at all

personally I liked it very much that they had kept the original opening & music almost intact. That opening really brought back memories, since my dad took me to see the originals when i was a kid

I got the comic version and now I have absolutely no interest in the movie itself. I could not even read the comic properly from cover to cover. The most interesting stuff in it were the ads, which made it almost bearable. (we need a vomiting emoticon here)

I thought it was heat, but I don't recall. it's part of the first action scene. I though lasers were focused heat waves anyway.
