File Renamer

Postby Jynks on Thu Nov 30, 2006 4:51 am

Hi there. I asked this about 2 years ago but i can not find the old post. basicaly I am lookign for a file renaming program that can scan a folder for files that contain a string and replace it..

EG:- You download a bunch of files from TVunderground....

smallville.301.dvdrip.xmmf.www.tvunderground.ru.avi
smallville.302.dvdrip.xmmf.www.tvunderground.ru.avi
smallville.303.dvdrip.xmmf.www.tvunderground.ru.avi

You want to tell the file renaming app to search for "www.tvunderground.ru.avi" and replace with ".avi"

Any help?

Peter's Flexible Renaming Kit (Pfrank) 1.82 might do the trick:

You could also set your eMule to do automatic file name cleaning for you under "Options/Files" or just edit the strings to search for so you can clean them manually under "Details/Name" downloads property page.

Hope this helps :beerchug:

Shell Toys has this feature - and many other handy things

ed2k: CFi.ShellToys.XP.v4.3.1.0.Cracked.Read.iNFO-Ramon.rar  [5.86 Mb] [Stats]
ed2k: ShellToys.XP.v3.0.0.+Keygen.rar  [4.18 Mb] [Stats]

install , select the files and it will add the feature to your right click

It doesn't search but you could search your HD first for all files with .www.tvunderground.ru in the name and then select the results of the search for modifiying.
you can also just replace the .www.tvunderground.ru with nothing

hope this helps :beerchug:

I actually use CK Rename 1.08 ... it's only about 602kb in size ... I use it for ALL my multi files ... especially the MP3s I got ...

http://www.musicsucks.com/CKSoft/CKRename/

It has shell support though but it's not that bad ...

man do we rock ! LOL

it's so tiny , I added it to my ed2k shares too for a backup
ed2k: renamefiles_v2.2.zip  [140.8 Kb] [Stats]

if anyone else does this also then set it to powershare or the highest priority you can so people don't have to wait forever for a brief transfer
