The Ultimate Warrior ... gonna rip this puppy

Postby Gem]n[ on Wed May 23, 2007 12:49 am

Hi guys,

I grabbed myself a DVD (original (German) ... rare as you like copy) of 'The Ultimate Warrior' off eBay ... cost me £16 notes but hey it was worth every penny ... i ain't seen this since way back then (poss 70's/80's) and then only once ... it's in English ... has German language & German subs but no English subs ... gonna resell it once I have ripped it ...

Anyhow I'm gonna do a rip of this baby and need someone to grab the finished product to powershare ... even tho we now got 10Mb here TalkTalk must have capped the bloody bandwidth ... as it's limited ...

Now do I do an AFR @ 746Mb or 1.46Gb ... it's 1 1/2 hrs long ...

Any takers for powersharing this puppy once it's finished?

what's most necessary, arbitrarily choosing a file is the bad way to do it.

You need to run some compressibility tests and see what your dealing with :)

I'm running tests now to see what's best ... the only problem I have with the 746mb AFR's is, I get afraid that that there 'might' be blocky parts (pixel breakup) in fast motion scenes ... I don't get that in my 1.46Gb versions as the bandwidth (video rate) is ample ...

I need to spend some time on GordianKnot (manual) to get this right as you can't tweak AutoGK the same way ... some of our groups releases (using 745Mb) are wicked quality ... i know they use filters too which you can't with AutoGK ...

I wish someone could just do a simple tutorial using screen shots on the critical settings of GordianKnot to get us started ... hasn't got to be a 50 page write up ...

That would be the purpose of doing said tests :googley:

I'm pretty sure you can unhide the avs editing section somewhere, check for an advanced options checkbox.
