watched the three Thunder In Paradise movies, the 2nd was by far the worst, they were pretty cheesy, but when you're watching a lot budget early 90s action show that only ran for 13 episodes or something starring mostly wrestlers and jack lemmons son, then you don't expect hi-art, enjoyable none the less

TRANSFORMERS 3: DARK SIDE OF THE MOON (2011)
the title counts as wit from michael bay. it's as witty as the movie gets. yeah. you know the drill. the action scenes aren't as good as the second one. nothing is as offensive as either of the previous movies. the plot is ridiculous...I don't mean "ridiculous to a real life scenario" - it's a freaking transformers movie, after all. I mean ridiculous as in...who the fuck thinks this up? you can actually see some fucknut in charge who knows nothing about sci-fi or fantasy making decisions like "oh, they like that kind of stuff. do that. what? we need a scene like that? ok. just say this load of tripe and..." blah blah blah. stay the fuck away.

finally watched SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA. was quite good. better than the original series, imo.

it can't possibly be worse then 2012: Ice Age (2011) that i made the mistake of watching the other day, except possibly as transformers 3 is posing as a box office movie.

2012: ice age was awful, it just sort of starts randomly in the middle of all the action, no lead up to why its happening or whats causing it, it just sort of starts, and the people are all unlikeable morons who make huge leaps of logic and complete utter bullshit, and then it just sort of ends after the ice age stops on it's own abruptly, the credits list played more like a list of people who must now be killed for the sake of humanity

Monte Carlo
your basic prince and the pauper identity switch romance aimed at teens and tweens. didn't quite realize how young the demo was - or what the formula was - until I was in the theater, but I wanted a movie I hadn't seen, and for some reason, I have no interest in CARS 2 even though I'm sure it's a quality production.

Twilight: Eclipse whilst playing warcraft (i.e., waiting for queue to pop). bad movie, but a noticeable step up from the previous disasters...which ranks it somewhere with TRANSFORMERS instead of TRANSFORMERS 2 on my list of wtf? franchise flicks.

so the last HARRY POTTER movie opens tonight at midnight. I was gonna go see it. I see most midnight shows. well...there are 13 screens at my main theater, all 13 are sold out for midnight. there are 18 screens at my other local place, 12 of them are showing the movie in its various guises, and all 12 of those are sold out as well. they're now offering shows at 2:45 AM. Now I'm not a big HP fan, so I'm not going to wait around until 3 AM to watch a mildly entertaining, watered down fantasy flick. but WOW I've never seen such a popular midnight show. this blows away the popularity for any of the LotR or SW movies (both fun events for midnight shows in their own right).
