actually its first person, and you can switch to 3rd person in vehicles. Dunno about on foot. 3rd person shooters normally suck because there's a total lack of accuracy, so i'm glad its been handled this way.

Anyways, this is identical to Battlefield:1942 / vietnam in style, its just set against a Star Wars background ;)

I checked the trailer, and its previewed in 3rd person on foot. Yet when in crafts its in 1st person, the shots in pc gamer show that the crafts are in 3rd person and the rest is fps.

I think that means its totally selectable, even on foot. I'd imagine if you played on foot in 3rd person, you'd get absolutely slaughtered though

at the end of the trailer he shoots a grenade in first person, so I think its pretty much garanteed that there will at least be a command line argument to put it into 3rd person.

I dont mind shooting in 1st person it the running around i cant do, the perspective is all wrong theres no periferal vision like we have, you can only get it in 3rd person. Its like when we are running you can almost see behind you, uless you are tunnel visioned of course.

u can see behind you when your running? :o

 , sure you miss out on a bit of field of vision, but you get accuracy and control as a result. 3rd person is not good for shoot em ups, for adventure games it can't be beaten.. ie. zeld....

/me is dragged away kicking and screaming....

Ya great Numpty, I'm talking about real life, you can virtually see if there is someone directly behind you when you run because of the head wobble, you normally have 180 degrees field of vision anyway

I was actually talking of 'real life'. I can't, when ever I've ran I couldn't see behind me, even if my head wobbles off . The only way I could think of this happening is if you shake your head (as in signifying no) when you run, otherwise you only get a bit of field perspective change right and left (and you can correct this in a lot of games by changing the monitor resolution to widescreen, nice tip for you there ;) And infact you can also do this with multiple monitors ).

(I also found this site)

As for seeing behind me, I certainly don't, stare straight ahead and head for the end zone. Your not a goat or a horse are you?

The only way I can see something behind is by turning my head (which you can do on a pc by mousing the mouse anyway). As for seeing people behind in races, I had to watch for the shadows. Sometimes you can pick up on suttle changes like shadow or noise too, but when running I can't see directly behind me, just slightly to the left and right

Anyway, why not shake the mouse from left to right as you press W?

I wasn't sure the peeps got any in this one. I read a preview interview and one of the lead designers say that its just rebel grunts vs. imperial grunts. However, at pivotal points during the game a demi-god would arrive (CPU controlled) who would be a character from the movies. For example, darth vader would arrive and ablitorate a rebel attack with saber + force powers. I don't know if its an idea they were toying with or it was implemented, but it sounded very innovative and fun imo.

As for the top ten, I'll have a think.. but i'm suprised to see Vice City there. I mean its nice for a bes. now and again but I'd hardly call it overly impressive, only in this generation at least. i find it much harder to choose games that films, there's impact, fun, lastability, innovation, story etc. to take into account. When saying best ever, which differs from best, because I think that could be something recent that your playing a lot, but pales in comparison to the oldies (ie. my view on GTA3, vicecity, very good games, but that's only in my recent view, I played them quite a bit but they were just one of the betters of the current generation rather than best ever if you know what i mean.). I do enjoy Vice City play though, but normally go for better story driven (and tighter gameplay) action-adventures. Then again I can see it as a perfectly fine top 50 choice easily :)
