NTL speed upgrades

Postby barry on Mon Aug 02, 2004 5:48 pm

The long awaited NTL speed upgrades are in progress. You can check your areas status with this thingy here

http://www.ntl.com/home/internet/upgrade/checker.asp

You'll need to reboot your modem to get the upgrade. Some of them are rebooting automatically but I had to do it myself and I've now gone from a crappy 150k to a merely poor 300k.

Not for me, upgrading my 300K to 1Meg means a 90% reduction in allowed bandwidth.

No, damn right I don't, but they intend to enforce it later this year, once the upgrades are done.

they can just try it... and watch as everyone leaves them in droves or people jsut ignore it like the last time they tried enforcing it, haha ntl are nothing but a bunch of wankers

when they first brought the limit out one of my mates got rang up 3 times by them he just hung up the first 2 times then the third time jsut said "shut up and stop ringing" and then hung up, i was there for that one hehe we laughed for ages

the cap is only a suggested one, if you constantly exeed it you might get a letter. The cap is in place at the moment but to my knowledge they dont enforce it.

as far as i know they tried enforcing it then when customers jsut told them to go fuck themselves, and started leaving they removed it and if they have any sense (which being ntl they dont) they wont bring it back

ah so it finally all comes out eh

http://www.home.ntl.com/icat/broadband

users who go from 300k - 1meg get an enforced 3gig a month limit (tho they can choose whether tehy want to upgrade from 300k or not

750k users are forceibly being upgraded to 2meg with an enforced 1gig a day dl limit

and get this

1.5 meg users who are being forcefibly upgraded to 3meg also have a 1gig a day limit enforced

i beg all of you send complaints to ntl via email phone anything, the enforcement of the dl limit must be stopped and overturned at all costs

its the worst nightmare of any body here
