I believe there were 2 Mortal Kombat sequels, a cartoon spinoff, and then a live action serial. So clearly, people are either really</i> emotionally attached to these video games or really</i> fecking stupid.

Well, there were the 2 movies (Mortal Kombat in 1995 & Mortal Kombat: Annhilation in 1997), then 2 series spinoffs I know of. The cartoon in 1995 (The Animated series, aka Defenders of the Realm) & live action series in 1998 (Conquest, aka Krusade). Both were in English & played here in the states.

And then of course movie #3:

Mortal Kombat: Domination in 2005

must have been street fighter or something then. To be honest I have no real interest in manga or beat em ups, so its hardly something that I'd remember anyways

Infact beat em ups are perhaps the crapest genre of game.... no storyline, repetative and boring games... and what do they choose to make a film out of?

They should stop dumping money into this holocaust in the making and turn their attention to making some decent films, or at least pick a better franchise to make a film of. Mortal Kombat was worse than super mario bros

SMB was waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than mortal kombat, mk was by far the biggest crime after Street Fighter the movie. It was just pure chronic arse rape from start to finish.

SMB was at least a whole * away from that crap, giving it */***** ;)
