For anyone considering this, it's actually a really good one. I'm not even a big anime fan and I enjoyed it a lot.

You see, I heard the opposite, I heard it looks stunning, but there is absolutely no substance or 'value' to the material beyond eye candy (an unfortunate trait of 90% of anime)... I also read in the thread @ fileheaven that it was also really boring.

Any weight behind these helen? d0c?

I liked it, and I'm not a big fan of anime either. Coincidence?

Perhaps it's just that it's not overloaded with "substance and value", the plot is rather simple, so a simple guy like me can actually understand it.

Nice use of quotes, I normally laugh my ass off when they reveal the deep hidden meaning in the anime films.

There's like a massive battle between too robots and then there's about 5mins of silence concluded by, "who would have thought the ghost of WW2 soldiers could have been disturbed by our actions! How could we have been so stupid?!?!? What you say?"

I downloaded this over a year ago and never watched it
I downloaded Appleseed a few weeks ago and watched it when it was done downloading.

Does that say anything? ;) probably not

I didn't really have a problem with the plot. I don't think it needed any more than what it had. It certainly isn't going to win any screenplay awards but to say there is absolutely no story or that it has no redeeming value is way off the mark, IMHO.

I thought, it was watchable. Not in the same league as "Ghost in the Shell" or "Akira", but a watchable / entertaining movie. But then I also like that Anime stuff ...
