I'd prefer a Shrinked DVDR myself. I usually try to set the menu system up around 50%, trailers & extras around 70%, & main film as high as it can go.

Play around with it. If the menu system is BIG, then ReAuthor it with 1 or 2 Trailers, the Movie & commentary track/s, then the Making of.

But in the end, it's your decision.

quality on shrink is horrendus, never use that to transcode anything unless you want it looking like the inside of an ass. only thing its good for is extracting the shit, then you create an unencoded recompile and run it through a competant encoder, like Pinnacle Instant copy, CloneDVD or, for best all-in-one easy encode quality DVDcopy2. If your a quality whore, CCE or TMPGenc are the only options, but far too much effort for me. Still, if you want everything, do not use DVD"universally last place"shrink

It *will* look terrible in DVDshrink in comparison to any of those other programs. There's a thread on forum.dead-donkey.com in hardware/software with various reviews of the encoders.

Do you not read my posts any more or something?

Or do you mean split a DVD9 into 2 DVD5s without re-encoding? Cos that's the only thing shrink is worth a piece of shit for (and the only reason I can figure out its existance).

If you don't mean that,
/me slaps max

So, are people interested?

Wing Commander IV is almost done, but I doubt many will click it.
The tape of Something is Out There should arrive by the end of this week or early next week.

So I will get some things on my hands and I wont share it all at once, unless people share with me by taking things from my ftp directly.

I've used several 'backup' programs. DVDXCopy is crap and I don't like it, Instant Copy I did like, but is not 'Instant', quick, or even fast as it takes forever and a day, have not yet tried CloneDVD or DVDcopy2. I also have yet to find a good guide on using/setting up CCE that explains it good enough I don't run into problems, like previously.

Shrink has ALWAYS looked good on ones I've backed up, including the painful Gold/Disney DVDs. Only a few DVDRs could I tell were not as good as the original. Even a 7.5 Gig DVD9 I had that was a 'bloated' Trailer & Main Movie looked excellent. I don't understand how some people love to single out one of the best programs & tell everyone it's crap just cause they don't like it. Then alot of the time, those same people, but not always, like to promote the lamer programs like DVDXCopy.

I'm looking forward to trying some new programs including DVDRebuilder. But until I can replace my MB, I'm dead in the water.
