dd and hhah = horror site
sf.dd = unique

So the three sections are covered by 2 passwords. At first i attempted to share passwords between sf and hhah, but it caused problems with sessions and marking which forums were read. That and the fact that horror fans and necessarily scifi fans and it was just easier to keep them as seperate registrations.

So you need to register at hhah to post on anything horror, and that's both frontpage and forums. :)

ah. that explains it.

not sure if this is on purpose or not, but I reset my hhah pass and logged back in. clicked remember me box. went to front page to respond to the news article and I had to log back in again. so same l/p database but otherwise independent?

The frontpage only uses the password and username data, not the session data. I didn't think it was wise messing with phpbb, particularly when their system is more secure than mine.

You'll get persistant login on the frontpage after initially login, but you get a different cookie for each section.

I cannot log into the horror board even after requesting a password reset, its really frustrating and since one cannot send feedback on this, since I cannot log in, I am mentioning it here, is the log in for the horror forums broken?

nope, its probably your cookies:

there was also a frontpage post about it.

Have you tested in another browser? if it works in one and not another, that normally means its a cookie problem. cookies are always solved by clearing and rebooting.
