*Caph HDTV rip nuked for having 3 seconds of missing footage in the beginning and video glitch @41.45/50. If you ask me nukers are way too anal on this one

Is this actually any good?

I watched it up to the end of the second season when I got the impression it was largely a waste of time. And Dominic Monaghan said on the Jonathan Ross Show that the studio was planning to pad-out the original plot with a number of filler seasons.

Is it worth picking it up again?

its okay, but it is really padded out. Would be a lot better with a couple of seasons of 6 to 13 episodes, akin to a english / hbo tv run.

There's a lot of scifi / horror / mystery / etc, but it keeps degenerating into an annoying drama series and over indulges in flashbacks for story telling.

The episode 4x05 was great and was probably the first episode that was solely plot. Its changed direction every half-season or so, and i reckon the writers didn't have much of a clue what they were doing at the start.

Definitely filler, but its okay.
