From the maker's of The Hogfather (the best adaptation of a disc world novel so far)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1079959/

Stars David Jason as Rincewind, Sean Astin as Twoflower and a whole host of celebs.

Hoping for something as good as the book.

aye, exactly the reaction I had when I saw the "subscribe to sky" advert in the middle of "Ice Road Truckers"

That's the show that just keeps giving...

I thought you didn't have commercial breaks on UK tv?

i bet you think we only have two channels too? BBC1 and 2.

There's 5 non-satellite channels, 3 of which are funded by advertising. There's also about 20 free-to-air channels, all of which barring the bbc news, bcc 3+4 and the childrens bbc channels are all advert driven. Then there's about 50-100 other channels that are all advert driven.

The ITV channel has been advertisment driven for 50 years.

So in short, no we have advert driven television too.

Sky are advert and subscription driven, The Colour of Magic is produced for Sky One which is there light entertainment channel.

well that sucks. I had this idealistic view of england where tv shows were seen all the way through, and you didn't have to train yourself to time the fast forward on the remote by counting commercials or whatnot. :(

easter holiday, its a mini-series made to sky 1 akin to the hogfather production.

Its not a ultra-high budget production but for a uk tv production is rather large... hogfather was £6m (~$12m), i imagine this is higher. Trailer looked great :)
