Anyone been on this site?

Postby digitalgodd on Tue Apr 15, 2008 9:31 pm

I just came across this site today and thought I would share the link. Seems like a cool site for new release downloads. :beerchug:

it is a cool little site with previews of most of the torrents. I use it all the time now to avoid those fake releases.

So which site would you recommend for info about HDTV/bluray/HDDVD rips?
Vcdquality.com has an HD rip section, but it's not updated very often.

I disagree, the best HD site is any newsgroup site that indexes:
alt.binaries.hdtv
alt.binaries.hdtv.x264

:o so you don't have newsgroups access?

About HD, I've been using usenet A LOT in the past months, it's simply great specially for highdef. But HDBits has still unique material that can't be found on newsgroups.

Usenet + newzbin is my primary download source, but I still keep an eye on HDBits.

In backwards land (ie. an imaginary world where OJ didn't kill his wife and Michael Jackson isn't a child molester), yes... :lol:

Was:
Private FTP -> Public FTP -> Newsgroups / IRC -> P2P
Now:
Private FTP -> Public FTP -> Newsgroups / P2P / RapidLame / IRC

Largely because the graph of idiots and newbies that now have the internet has exploded, and there is no longer a requirement to have a slight technical background to understand concepts like parity, etc.

So I'd restate the above message which so aptly summarised the my above exclamation,
:o So you don't have newsgroups access then?

:)

I've used HDBits a little bit, nice site and its got retention in its favour. No where near as convienant as news though, which is why I disagree.

If it's anything like Torrentbits, which I was a member of at one time until I got pruned (even though my ratio was >1, probably because I hadn't used it for some time) then yes, it's probably a good source of scene release information. Unfortunately this information is not public.

No way. Have you actually looked at http://www.binsearch.info/browse.php?bg ... .hdtv.x264 ?
You have to sort through dozens of passworded files, obfuscated titles and PS3AVCHD.presents to find the genuine scene releases.

That's why he said "newsgroup site that indexes alt.binaries.hdtv & alt.binaries.hdtv.x264". binsearch is a Usenet Search Engine more than an indexer. And I repeat what I said: "my primary download source is Usenet + newzbin".
