The only one of these I have on DVD is Thief and the Cobbler - Recobbled version. I've also seen an AVI on the emule network.

I have the following as AVI files, and I would expect they are fairly easy to download:
Halloween 6 Producers Cut (think this came from a link at dead-donkey.com)
Halloween (2007) Workprint
Rambo (2008)
Can provide links if you need them.

You should check the forums at originaltrilogy.com. Members there have recently released DVDs for the Waterworld and Dune TV cuts you mention.

Hi digitalgodd !

Are you looking for those Workprint, or do you already have them ? It's not very clear (to me at least) :wacky:

Cause if you're looking for them, I have some that are in your list. I've bought them on a web site, Rezarected, who's offering many Workprint version of movies and some other stuff too :

-Friday The 13th Part IV (WP)
-Friday The 13th Part VI (WP)
-Hellraiser : Bloodline (WP)
-Creepshow (WP)

But me, I would be very interested if you could share some of your list, if you have them of course. Probably that they will interest other too by the same time :

-Army of Darkness - 104 min extended version
-Death Machine (1995) Super Rare Director's Cut 21 added mins
-Nemesis (1993) Director's Cut 6 added mins

Thanks in advance !

ok good !

Btw, i've never rip a DVD in my life, so I don't know how to do it. I would love to make a DivX of my four Workprint, for every ones that are interested, but I need some time to try ripping.

I doubt too that the quality will be good, like rips from group release, so I can try, but don't blame me for bad quality !!!

So i'll try to rip them, when i'll have the time to, and post them here, and also on HHAH.

And about your Workprint, since they don't have Death Machine and Nemesis on Rezarected that I could buy, it could be great if you could rip them and share them. I'm the first that's gonna help you share them if you rip them.

You should look into AutoGK for ripping, it is very easy.

Alright, just to try to clear this one (Death Machine) :

I have the rip from STR, this one :
Death.Machine.Directors.Cut.[1995].VHSRip.XViD.=STR=.avi (714.650 MB)
The run time is : 02h:03min:00 (this include the 'generic')

I also have two DVD edition of Death Machine, who give me those time in my Region-Free DVD Player :

NTSC R1 - Trimark Home Video - Rated : 99min:07sec (01h:39min:07)
PAL R2 - Entertainment In Video - Director's Cut : 111min:24sec (01h:51min:24) (I know this one is a little 'speedup' because it's a PAL, so it may confuse a little)

So, pure, could you tell me the run time of the ShitBusters rip ?
And digitalgodd, could you tell me the run time of your Workprint ?

Because, there is also a guy on eBay who's is selling a LaserDisc copy, which he say is 131 min., so, if you take the 111min. Director's Cut, and you add the 20 extra min the Workprint should have (from Digitalgodd), than it make 131 min., just like the LD a guy is selling on eBay. Just check out his description :

"Death Machine" on JVC/Media Rings #MGLC-94059/60 Japanese LaserDisc, NTSC, CLV, 131 minutes, letterboxed in 2.35:1, digital audio, in English with Japanese subtitles completely in the bottom black bar for an unaltered picture. This is the rare gatefold version on 2 discs, that contains the 121 minutes Director's Cut and 10 minutes of extra material ! Dozens of sketches are shown and compared to the final sequences as they appeared in the film, and the director gets to say a few words while attending the 1994 Tokyo Fantastic Film Festival; also includes the theatrical trailer. The R1 DVD release of this movie was chopped to 4:3 and cut down to 99 minutes, the Japanese LD has it in full 2.35:1 and runs 22 minutes longer, this is definitely the version to own !

So just let me know, because if your Workprint is less than the 2h:03min of the rip from STR, don't make the rip, and if the rip from ShitBuster is higher too, well, we'll forget this one, and you could rip the Nemesis one, this one could be VERY appreciated ! I've try to buy the LaserDisc of Nemesis, Director's Cut last years, but I didn't won it, so... if I can find it again on eBay, i'll try to buy it this time, and i'll try to make a rip, if I can.

Btw, i've try AutoGK, and it work pretty well, thanks digitalgodd ! I'm almost done, just one more to rip, and i'll make some Topic for them, and give the link for the Topic here too. :D

Sorry it took a while to respond.

The ShitBusters release is a mix between a german VCD, a german DVD and english VHS audio.
The last 25-30 minutes are in DVD quality. A pretty nice hybrid :D

I did find a torrent of the DVDR (probably encoded) and I've no idea which region.

EDIT : German R2 DVD, uncut

No problem, and i'm sorry too about the long delay about my rips, but i'm having problems with those rips... I'll try to finish ripping them as soons as I can.

About the ShitBuster release, well, thanks buddy. I've started it, but there's only one seeder, and i'm far in is queue, so I hope to be able to have it one day, to compare it with my DVD (which is the UK PAL R2 one).

And about the Torrent DVD-R, well, since I already have the UK one, Director's Cut, I doubt that the German one have anything more than this, i'll check if so, but I doubt it.

And btw, I've found and bough the Nemesis movie, Director's Cut, on VHS, on eBay. It was new & sealed !!! So, I'll make a rip of this one too with the ripping tool one of my friend have, because there's no seeder for the DiGiTaLgodd rip, i'm at 1.2%, like Rogue, and there's no seeders. The last one who had the most, was like at 84%... anyway, i'll try to make it soon. I'll post the Topic link here.

Alright ! thanks :P

But anyway, i've try with Gordian Knot, with the help of BadBugs, and it's working pretty well right now. I have one rip finished, and the quality is pretty good for a workprint. The only problem so far is the file size, i've selected 700MB (1CD) and it gave me a 1.2GB file !!!??? ANyway, it's seem like it's not bad-interlaced, so i'll keep going with GK and the BadBugs guide, if I have any trouble, i'll ask him and take a look at SBIG too ! Remember that it's my first time ripping !

Ho and about the Nemesis Director's Cut, i'll contact my friend and ask him for his external tool for ripping that VHS, this one should be pretty easy, I only hope that the quality will be good, and that the file size will not be too high !!

Well, finally, here they are :

Hellraiser IV : Bloodline (Workprint) : http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=19089

Friday The 13th Part IV : The Final Chapter (Workprint) : http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=19088

Friday The 13th Part VI : Jason Live (Workprint) : http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=19087

It took me a long time, because I was having problem with Gordian Knot, with the file size. It's not even repaired, but i've given up ! I've never been able to find out the problem, so whatever, a 1 GB file is not thta bad anyway, and the video and audio quality are at the bes they can be.

Anyway, for those who want them, enjoy !

Btw, i'll make the Nemesis Director's Cut rip pretty soon, so expect it this week or next week !

And I still need a full source for the ShitBusters rip of Death Machine... any chance ??? :?

Hi, are you still gonna release Death Machine DC?

I ripped it from the german DVD, so I've great video now (instead of 3/4 of VCD quality), but my audio is still from VHS.

Re: WORKPRINTS AND ALTERNATE VERSIONS

Postby EvilDeadlyImmortal on Mon Mar 02, 2009 10:08 pm

I've finished the VHSRip (=STR=) and the DVDRip (ShitBuster) some time ago, and i've compared them a little, and here's what I have :

VHSRip Death.Machine.Directors.Cut.[1995].VHSRip.XViD.=STR=.avi
Picture beginning and ending - 00:21 - 1:56:21 (Rip Time - 2:02:25)
(Total time of picture showing (no credit, just picture) - 1:56:00)

DVDRip Death.Machine.DC.1995.DVDRip.Xvid-ShitBusters.avi
Picture beginning and ending - 00:19 - 1:56:05 (Rip Time - 2:02:08)
(Total time of picture showing (no credit, just picture) - 1:55:46)

DVD PAL Entertainment In Video (Director's Cut Version)
Picture beginning and ending - 00:18 - 1:45:37 (DVD Time - 1:51:24)
(Total time of picture showing (no credit, just picture) - 1:45:19)

DVD NTSC Trimark Home Video (Theatrical Rated Cut Version)
Picture beginning and ending - 00:20 - 1:32:59 (DVD Time - 1:39:07)
(Total time of picture showing (no credit, just picture) - 1:32:39)

And here's a screenshot of the VHSRip (=STR=) and the DVDRip (ShitBuster) :

VHSRip (=STR=) :
Image

DVDRip (ShitBuster) :
Image

So I don't know why there's such a difference between the VHSRip and the DVDRip of the Director's Cut version, but as you can see, there's a 14 seconde difference between those two, this is all what this comparaison is about...

So, all that to say, that if you could rip your Workprint version, so that we could compare it with those others, that could be great !!! Looking forward to it !

Well the first ShitBusters was 3/4 VCD and 1/4 DVDrip

The screen you posted is an upscaled VCD, hence the lack of sharpness.

New hybrid I made has the picture starting at 19 seconds and ends at 1:56:05
Image
from the AVI rip

This one is completely from the DVD, except for the audio.

Bottom line is. We need your rip :D People need your rip!

I know this is a long shot, but I've been looking everywhere for a workprint of Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy.
As far as trading goes, the only decent WP I have at the moment is Xmen origins: Wolverine (the one with the unfinished/missing CGI) although most folks already have that.
Hope you're still around, sorry for posting in such an old thread,
Cheers!
