lol, yeah sure sounds like it too

I think you can paraphrase that post your replied to as "and this makes Last Action Hero good why?". You totally side stepped that one in my view, but went straight on ahead going on about everything else under Solaris

Sorry but this "spud does not listen to my opinion" is laughable, a little digusting and insulting, I always listen, but I'm not allowed to have my own why? I was merely commenting on Last Action Hero being a crap film, I don't care if people watch it, but I would like to point them to better films rather than stick with the 'same' old. It was the re-watching that threw me :o

Sorry but closing me closed minded is bs, I might have opinions, but there's nothing more to them then that. And if you can't see that, then I suggest getting down from that high horse your up on now and re-evaluate

Call/think of me what you may, I don't care, but responses to opinions should be met likewise, going on about unrelated matters as some kind of justication seems weak to me though ;)

ps. you do realise the nature of smileys right? If not, well you should :)

You don't like Naked Gun movies? I mean they aren't overly funny or anything but I thought they were pretty decent, especially as far as 'spoof' goes.

Sure they're not monty pythons or some great scripted comedy of the standard of BBC sitcoms, but as far as wacky comedy goes I thought they were pretty good. I'm not a fan of american comedies, but I much prefer Naked Gun, Wayne's World, etc. to a lot of this modern tat.

I mean we aren't talking Police Academy here :matrix: (can't stand them)

you say last action hero is crap, doesnt mean other people do, i agree your advice on brazil was good as i enjoyed the film, and we do have some good debates on games and stuff like that, just sometimes (and this could be you or it could be the way the internet makes things come across in a different meaning then theyre meant, or it could even be me) but sometimes they just appear a bit... closed minded.

anyway i think this is getting carried away now anyway too, so i will not reply anymore on the subject, plus i have to go format my computer anyway as its nto been done in about 2-2.5 years

ps - i also like naked gun movies, and of course police squad, i liked the first few police academys but it jsut wasnt the same towards the end imo

Yeah, but even the fact that OJ Simpson's in Naked Gun makes those films funny on that level... Most of the film you can spend pointing and laughing at him, even if you don't find the film amusing

out of the 2 mentioned i enjoyed naked gun moreso but IMO thats a one-time watch movie as the humour becomes very droll very quickly if watched again but undoubtedly is funny the one time :D

hmm last action hero.....only thing i rememeber that i remotely liked about it was the guys contact lenses...damn that movie did suck some major ass if thats all i can find that i enjoyed/remembered about it

that humour bores me very quickly,ok it may be funny once but i like to laugh at things on repeat viewings aswell and find it's not possible for me to do that with Naked Gun type movies.....maybe because it's american aswell and us brits make the funniest comedies, everybody knows that

now watch all non brits attack me for that :P

Ah very understandable in that case. I fair liked the silliness in those movies which is why I like the silly comedies like Naked Gun and Airplane. But I agree, can dry up on repeat viewing, normally spread viewings out for a year or two because of that. I don't like Police Academy though, which is strange cos they are quite similar (although totally slated on imdb though I see... so there must be something behind it). I suppose the first one was okay, but like you said, more than one viewing does them in, and the sequels were just more of the same crap anyway. :matrix:

@bobby
Futurama is funny but its more a 'light funny' rather than flat out hilarious comedy. I love futurama, and the simpsons for that reason. Very entertaining to watch several times because of it too. As far as animated funny goes, South Park and Family Guy are the 'proper' comedies (if you know what I mean, there sole purpose is to make you laugh, whereas futurama and simpsons are entertainment funny) there, both are hilarious. I hated family guy when I first saw the very first episode, but since seeing them and buying them on DVD, top class stuff!. Haven't watched galaxina yet, no comment :)

@bassline, you have to see futurama. Great show! Better than the simpsons imo.

hmmm i do like the Simpsons (who doesn't?).....i may try and catch an ep of Futurama some time in the future if you think it is better

South Park is only good because of Cartman...he's one funny fat kid

only caught the odd episode of Family Guy...was OK i guess :)

Seriously, if you've seen family guy on tv... bad! It nearly destroyed me enjoying that show.

It's so well scripted, brilliant sketch shows.

Cartman is funny, but I think a lot of it has now transferred to its politic/social comment as much as fart jokes.... thats why I like it. The way it dubs all the current american/global crazes and stupid stuff.

And futurama... yes its better than the simpsons, nuff said :)

i love family guy, baby stewie is easily the best character, futurama rocks too (shame it got cancelled) i like the simpsons but i found season 13 and 14 weak but season 15 seems to be getting better, but theyre running out of ideas for the simpsons now i think, they should quit while theyre ahead, and make more futurama :D :D, i like south park aswell for pretty much the same reason spud does because it ties well into current affairs, and the jennifer lopez episode alone is worth it, even thoughmy favourite episode is the return of the fellowship of the ring to the two towers "jews cant be paladins" is an immortal line

and i also think the brits make the best comedies, see me and spud agree on some things like i said  , although in the 80s the U.S had a sense of humour which seems to have been lost (eurotrip aside eh paul... if he looks at this thread anyway), non scifi but Flowery Twats (Fawlty Towers) is a truly great comedy imo

im getting this slight sense, correct me if i'm wrong, but you like simpsons don't you dinky hehe

ive never seen the taming of the shrew but i'm aware 10 things is meant to be a modern adaptation but i wasnt that keen on 10 things anyway lol so it doesnt put me in a hurry to see the shrew one, unles the shrew is from outer space and has big ass lasers and is a crude puppet that attacks somewhere in the american midwest in nice b&w :wacky:
