I'm also looking forward to further additions  I've been going through dozens of "Cyberpunk movie lists", but it looks like everyone has a different opinion about what a movie would make Cyberpunk. Some had Clockwork Orange listed :? How's that cyberpunk? Where's the cyberspace and cyberware?

Anyway, I'm still searching the net and trying too find a good list :)

well there's no such thing as cyberpunk, cyberspace or cyperware, its a interpretative term rather than a easily definiable subgenre.

I can kind of see why A Clockwork Orange may arguably be there, although I don't really agree on any level. The Droogs are anarchists and anti-society, its set in the 'future', and its sure as hell not a nice place, alex is brainwashed by a (somewhat crude) use of technology to conform to state. 'cyberspace' isn't even a requirement if you check the text definition you quoted in the intro ;) IMO its not even a well defined word, let alone a real quantifier by which a subgenre needs judging by.

13th floor needs adding btw. :)

Well, I had the same idea about the Droogs being anarchists and it was being placed in a time were it's not to jolly. But I'm looking for movies with the High Tech very much present. Like in Blade Runner, Floating cars, lots of neon, cyborgs, etc...

I'll redo the intro a bit and make it a what more elaborate, it may be too vague now :)

"[William] Gibson said it in a short story somewhere. Cyberpunk is the stuff that has EDGE written all over it. You know, not edge, it's written EDGE. All capital letters. Now ask me how I'd define EDGE. Well, EDGE is not about definitions. To the contrary, things so well known that they provide an exact definition can't be EDGE. They probably once were but now they ain't. SO DON'T TRY TO DEFINE IT!!!"

btw, there is a appleseed part 2 now out. I'm guessing it would be a good addition to this thread.
- maybe someone can make a forum release for it if they have time?

I haven't watched it yet but I got a torrent from bt-chat.com

Singaporian 'Avatar' http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0270841/

Personally I think it's a stinker, but some recon this is as close to filming 'Neuromancer' as anyone has come.
