Just read the technologies you were going through; the jump from VHS to DVD was huge, the jump from DVD to HD isn't very big.

You'd be better comparing bluray and hd-dvd to UMD at the moment.

Yep valid point Jynks ... it is the consumers that make the decision not the manufacturers ... you keep buying they keep making ...

I'm not saying I won't buy HD media (BR ... it's all the same ... still HD) ... but I will wait till it's really sorted ... as in the 2nd or 3rd or 4th (what are we on now?) generation devices ... so that they iron out the bugs and stuff ... I will need to keep up with the technology as I am gadget boy ... but not that anal as in have to buy it now ...

I can't believe we're still using stuff that Noah took with him :mrgreen:

yes, both formats take forever to load a disc, even in the current crop of 2nd gen players.
