Crusade

Several years after the end of the Great War (detailed in the main Babylon 5 TV series) the former servants of the now-exiled Shadows attempt to avenge their old masters by introducing a powerful biological weapon into Earth's atmosphere. After five years of adapting itself to humanity's genetic makeup, it will kill every human being on the planet. Since this plague was the product of a technology far ahead of humanity's, there isn't enough time to develop an original solution - instead, humanity will have to comb through the ruins of older alien civilizations with the hope of finding some ancient, advanced technology that can cure the disease. Leading this high-stakes archeological mission is a starship of the new Interstellar Alliance, the Excalibur, and its crew drawn from the Alliance's elite troubleshooting corps, the Rangers.

I'm starting with The Gathering, but do I watch the one posted or the special edition?

ed2k: Babylon.5.-.The.Gathering.Special.Edition.(DVD-rip).avi  [707.97 Mb] [Stats]

What's the difference, more footage?

(The S.E. seems about 4 mins longer).

Babylon 5 : The Movie?
Reported at TGL by Chris Howell

According to a report at AICN, there's a chance that Babylon 5 may be heading towards a big-screen release - the original reports contains the following newsgroup comments from Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski :

"Soon, I promise, all will be made clear. I don't like being Mr. Mysterioso on this, but if I say too much, the-powers-that-be will use my head to make a 2.35:1 sized hole in the wall."

AICN reporter Reno comments that "Well, it doesn’t take much of a leap of logic to deduce that this mysterious Babylon 5 project is going to be a theatrical film. As we all know 2.35:1 is a refernce to a film aspect ratio. If he were referring to TV he would have said 1.33:1 (standard tv ratio) or 4:3 (high def/widescreen tv ratio)."

"This has me excited. JMS and his crew managed to stretch every dollar they had and get it up on our television screens for five years. What will the movie be about? No word, not even a hint, as of yet. Though a few years back JMS did say that the Telepath War that was often mentioned during the series (and during B5 spin-off Crusade) might make an interesting film....I know where my money is placed on what this new B5 project is."

Man legend of the Rangers was complete CRAP as was Crusader..... Do not get me wrong Babylon 5 is a TOP show and one of the few TV shows I own original DVD's for (to me, if I have original dvd that is a major respect mark)

I would love a new Babs but I want a GOOD babs.

So if you have the WHOLE series from DVDs? What's the point of AVI/MPGs??? An obsessive collector who watches 1/2 of what he has???

For me it's the other way around. Never enough space for what I want to do. Give me a little time & I'll pump out some good release material of my own. Just need the ChaChing for upgrades.
