hated the BSG finale, however.
started watching NEON GENESIS EVANGELION. it's not bad, but there are gaping - plot holes is the wrong word - stupidities in the fictional world that make it difficult to take seriously. most of my issues revolve around the barely-there plot device that produces "mechs" (apparently living to some degree?) that only certain children can pilot. there are other smaller issues having to do with human relationships that are cheesy too, but they're minor and not unexpected for the genre. I've only seen 5 or 6 eps so far. I expect some explanation to what actually "makes" an EVA (what's with the living thing under the armor? etc.) and something explaining why the hell only children can pilot them. gotta tell ya, that's the stupidest thing that demands suspension of disbelief. the transforming city is actually a cool sci-fi idea. anyway, it's only 25 eps + 2 movies, so it's not a lot of effort to view "the whole story."

ps - I think a new SMALLVILLE is waiting on my dvr somewhere.
